The Wood County Genealogical Society will provide copies of obituaries, newspaper articles, and other research assistance. The charge for materials is $2.00 for the first copied page and $1.00 for each one thereafter.

Search Tips:
Names: Entering only a person’s last name is the best way to search the database. However, you can enter a first initial or first name to narrow your results. To do this, you must enter the last name, a comma, and then the first name.

For example:

Dates: When searching by date, you are searching the date the obituary appeared in the newspaper, not the date of death. The format of the dates is YEAR-MO-DY; March 24th, 1918 is listed as 1918-03-24.
