Listen, Little Ones
Thursdays
10:15 AM
For babies & toddlers (6-36 months) and a caregiver. Scheduled
for 20 minutes, children are introduced to the joy of books. Lots
of movement activities included.
No registration required.
Preschool Storytime
Tuesdays
10:30 AM and 7:00 PM
Planned for children ages 3-6 years old, sessions are literature
based and include a variety of songs, fingerplays, puppets, and
games.
No registration required.
Outreach Storytimes
The Outreach Librarian is available to visit area preschools and
daycare centers for regularly scheduled storytimes. Call 419-352-8253
to book a time.
Puppet Pals Tutoring
Fall session: September-November;
Winter session: February-April.
Call or stop by for times and to register.
This is an America Reads project sponsored by the Martha Gesling
Weber Reading Center and the Wood County District Public Library.
This program pairs 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders with BGSU tutors
who will be a pal, willing listener and coach to a reader ready
to practice language skills. Free.
Novel Chit-Chats:
Monday (not regularly scheduled – see librarian for details)

September to May
Adult/child (9+ years) book discussion group meets to talk about
a children’s literature choice. Call the Children’s
Place desk to register for the next session.
Family Literacy materials
This area includes a diverse collection of materials. Parenting
resources, study guides, educational videos, dictionaries and English-as-a-Second-or-Other-Language
(ESOL) resources, community information and pleasure reading books
are selected to meet the literacy needs of families and adult learners.
Resources for community referral can also be obtained as handouts.
