It might seem surprisingly late in the game to introduce the "basic", first-position C, F, and G7 chords, but to be honest they're not all that easy to play! Here, Sheri and Jason demonstrate how to get these key-of-C chord shapes comfortably under your fingers and make smooth transitions between them.

Friends, this is the moment you've all been waiting for... whether you knew it or not!

Sheri demonstrates one of the easiest ways (but not the "usual" way) to play songs using C, F, and G chords. Even better, with this method, you'll be playing further up the neck of the ukulele (on the third, fifth, and seventh frets), which will put a new range of sounds under your fingers and make you look more like a rock star!

Jason says, "Smooth transitions between chords are important for players at every level, but focused practice on specific skills can sometimes be tedious." In this video, he offers some tips for making practice sessions more productive, more interesting, and more musical.

Uke Club Shorts Bonus content: The second-easiest key to start playing songs in is G. And the easy-but-fancy two-finger "tonic" chord is G6 … which happens to be James Hill’s favorite chord!

Now that you can play easy songs in two different keys, you can start exploring patterns in the relationships between chords. And now you know all three chords in the Ukulele Club theme song!
