The Wood County District Public Library Foundation was created in 1994 by the Library Board of Trustees as a positive response to the challenge of securing consistent and adequate funding for the Library's acquisitions, services, and programs. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation organized to receive and administer the Library's endowment funds. The primary goals of the Library Foundation are:
Acquisition of Quality Books and Materials |
As the costs of books and magazines increase, more people depend on the Library's resources to stay informed. The Library also offers many resources to encourage lifelong learning.
Technology |
The Library's computers enable Wood County's citizens to access information to compete in today's world. It is necessary to keep our equipment and software up to date.
Children's Services and Programs |
Research has shown that today's library patrons used the library as children. We need to reach children and make the library and reading an important part of their lives.
Local History and Genealogy |
Learning more about our families and where we live is part of the Library's role. New technology allows us to access resources nationally. New software programs are needed. |
